Editor’s Explanatory Notes
Ⅰ.Fujian Statistical Yearbook-2009 (in both Chinese and English) is
an annual statistic publication of comprehensive information with highly
density. The yearbook covers very comprehensive data in 2008 and some selected
data series in important years and the data since 1949 of provincial and
regional levels and in different departments ,
reflects various aspects of
Ⅱ.The yearbook comprises
twenty-two sections such as: 1.General Survey；2.National Economy Accounting；3. Population,Employment and Wages；4.Investment in Fixed Assets；5. Energy；6. People's Living Conditions；7.Price Indices；8.General Survey of Cities；9.Finance；10.Agriculture；11.Industry； 12.Construction；13. Transportation, Postal and Telecommunication Services；14.Wholesale,Retail Trades, Hotels
and Catering Services；15 Foreign Trade and International Tourism；16.Science and Education17.Culture,Publishing,Sports,and
Public Health；18. Environment
Protection and Others；19. Enterprise Groups and Enterprise Climate Index；20.Main Economic Indicators of City
Prefecture and County；21. General Situation of Enterprises；22.The Main Economy and Social Indicators
of the region in the
Ⅲ.Compared with the Fujian Statistical Yearbook 2008,some changes are made in contents and in editing mode, including the following:
1) The chapter in this yearbook have been adjusted.There are three chapters were increased such as chapter of General Survey of Cities, Enterprise Groups and Enterprise Climate Index and The main Economy and Social indicators of the Region In the West Side of the Straits Economic Area etc. two chapters such as chapter Science and Technology and chapter Education, Culture and Publishing and chapter Sports, Public Health and Others have split to three chapters such as chapter Science and Education, chapter Culture,Publishing,Sports,and Public Health and chapter Environment Protection and Others.
2) One or more table was increased to reflect the General survey in chapter. Table in chapter General survey were substantial adjustment to China Statistical Yearbook-2008.Data on divisions of People's Livelihood concluded in the chapter of Population,Employment and Wages.
3) In order to
reflect economic and social development since The New China was founded 60
years and the Reform and Opening of Fujian 30 years and the building of the
Ⅳ.The data of
Ⅴ.Data source, calculation scope for important statistical data in this yearbook are noted in each part.
Ⅵ.The units of measurement used in this yearbook are internationally standard measurement units.
Ⅶ.Statistical discrepancies due to rounding are not adjusted in this yearbook.
Ⅷ.Description of signs or symbols in the yearbook:
“# ”stands for interim item；“…” for data with insufficient decimal place；“blank” for absence of data indicators or ignorance of them.
Ⅸ.Chapter Industrial enterprises above designated size in this yearbook refer to all corporative industrial enterprises with an annual major business income ( or product sale income) of over 5 million yuan；chapter Enterprises above designated size in wholesale, retail sale, hotels and catering services refer to the wholesale enterprises (including foreign trade enterprises) with annual sales of over 20 million yuan, the retail enterprises with annual sales of over 5 million yuan, star-ranking hotels and the catering enterprises with annual turnover of over 2 million yuan respectively.
Ⅹ.The indicator of GDP, gross output value of farming, forest, animal husbandry and fishery and industry in this yearbook is calculated according to prices of current year. Growth rate and indices of production value is calculated according to comparable prices.
Ⅺ.Growth rates and indices in this yearbook are calculated by“level approach”.
Ⅻ.In the course
of compilation, the yearbook has received great support from many units and
